We work out of Bunglow No. 12 in the Apratim Colony. It’s in Amravati, zip code 444602. It’s a bit quieter here in the colony than out at the actual crushing site. We’ve been doing this for a while now and we know the area pretty well. Stone crushing isn't a glamorous job by any means. It’s loud and dirty work that leaves you tired at the end of every shift. We usually start early before the heat gets too bad. Maharashtra summers are no joke when you’re working outside. We’ve got a small team and we mostly just stick to our tasks. There isn't much time for standing around talking. We make sure the piles of stone are sorted and the trucks are on their way. Sometimes we have to deal with the machines breaking down at the worst possible time. It’s just part of the daily grind. We don't use any fancy management techniques; we just use common sense and hard work. People around Amravati know where to find us if they need stone. The bungalow serves as our main point of contact. It’s a practical setup for a practical business. We don't have much to say about ourselves other than we show up every day and get the work done. It’s been that way for years, and we don’t see any reason to change how we do things now. We just keep moving forward with the work.
