Universal Engineering & Fabricators is out in Ambernath East, specifically in the Anand Nagar MIDC area at Plot B-110. It’s a bit of a trek for some, but this is where the real work happens. Fabrication is a messy, loud, and physically demanding job, and our shop floor shows it. There are welding marks on the ground and stacks of metal tubes and sheets everywhere you look. We don't have a fancy showroom because our work speaks for itself once it’s finished. The air is always thick with the sound of grinding and the bright flashes of welding torches. We’re a small team, and most of us have been working side-by-side for quite a while now. We don't really do formal performance reviews or anything like that; you just know if you’re doing a good job by how the final piece looks. Ambernath can get pretty quiet at night, but during the shift, it’s a hive of activity. We have our small breaks where we sit on whatever is available and talk about the latest cricket match or family stuff. It’s not a glamorous life, but there’s a lot of pride in building something sturdy with your own two hands. We deal with the usual stuff—broken tools, late deliveries, and the pouring rain during monsoon season that makes the roof leak a little. We just patch it up and keep going because that’s what we do here.
