Saraswati Bal Niketan Public School

Our school is situated out in Nohni, which is near Saha in Ambala. It’s a quiet area mostly, away from the city noise. The kids come from the surrounding villages and they usually arrive by bus or walk if they live close enough. Saraswati Bal Niketan Public School has been around for a good while now. The building is a basic structure, nothing too flashy, but it works for what the children need for their lessons. We have classrooms that get plenty of sunlight in the morning hours. During the break, you can hear the noise of the students playing in the yard from quite a distance away. The teachers are mostly people from the local community who have been teaching here for many years. We don't spend any money on big advertisements or billboards. Most people hear about us from their neighbors or relatives whose kids already study here. Sometimes the power goes out in the afternoon, but we just carry on with the lessons like usual. It is a very typical village school atmosphere. We have the usual wooden desks and blackboards. We don't use much technology, just books and talk. It feels like a small family because everyone knows everyone else’s name. The road leading up to the school can get a bit muddy when it rains heavily, but the kids don't seem to mind much. We just keep things running day by day. That is pretty much how life is here in Ambala.
