B S Janta Senior Secondary School

You will find B S Janta Senior Secondary School over in Barada, near Ugala. It is out in the Ambala district. The school has been part of this area for quite some time now. We have a lot of students who come in from the surrounding villages. In the summer, it gets very hot in the classrooms, so we keep the fans going as much as we can. The playground is mostly dirt, but the kids don't seem to mind when they are playing cricket or running around. We have a lot of senior students here since it’s a secondary school. They are usually worried about their board exams. The teachers are local people who have been teaching for years. We don't have a lot of fancy equipment. We mostly use textbooks and the blackboards. It is a quiet kind of place except when the bell rings. The school gates are big and heavy. We spend our days making sure the classes are running on time. There is always some paperwork to do in the office. People in the village know us well. We don’t try to be anything we aren’t. It’s just a place for education in a rural setting. Sometimes the cows wander near the entrance, and we have to shoo them away. It is just normal life here in Ambala. We are just doing what we can for the students and the families around us.
