About Vishavkarma Engineering Works – Engineering in Ambala
We have been at No. 1554 in Durga Colony for quite a long time now. It’s a busy place with lots of metal and grease everywhere. Most days start early with the sound of machines warming up. We do a lot of lathe work and welding here. People from around the neighborhood bring in all sorts of broken parts. Sometimes it’s a tractor piece or just a small bracket that snapped off. We don't have a big front office or anything like that. It’s mostly just the workshop floor. My hands are usually dirty by nine in the morning. We try to keep things organized but when there are five projects going at once, tools end up all over the benches. It’s just how it goes in a place like this. We’ve seen the colony change a lot over the years, but our shop stays pretty much the same. We have some old machines that still work better than the new ones. There’s no fancy coffee machine, just a kettle in the corner for tea. We spend most of our time measuring things twice and cutting them once. It’s noisy work, but we like it. If you walk past Durga Colony, you’ll probably hear the grinding sounds coming from our gate. We aren't doing anything revolutionary, just solid shop work that needs doing. It keeps us busy and the bills paid. Sometimes we stay late when a job is tricky.
