Warm Forgings

Up at F-71 in the RIICO Industrial Area, things get pretty warm. That’s why the name is Warm Forgings. It’s a lot of metal and heat all day long. If you haven't been to this part of the industrial area before, it can be a bit of a maze with all the trucks coming and going. We’ve been at this spot for a while now. The hammers make a rhythm you get used to after a few weeks, though new people find it loud. It’s mostly just us doing our thing with the steel. We don’t really go in for anything flashy. The floor is usually covered in some kind of grit. We have a small office area, but most of the action is out on the floor where the real work happens. Sometimes the weather makes it even hotter inside, which isn't great, but we get through it. My shirt is usually soaked by noon. Being in RIICO means there are always people moving around outside. We know the guys at the neighboring units. We just try to get the pieces right and move on to the next pile. Warm Forgings isn't a huge place, but we keep the machines running as much as we can at F-71. It’s just a regular industrial shop where folks work hard and then go home to their families at night. That's the way it's been for years.
