Yadav Engeneering Works

Working in Nimrana can be pretty tough when the summer hits. Yadav Engeneering Works is located right in Talwanatehsil-Nimrana and it’s usually quite a noisy place. We have machines running most of the day and there’s always the smell of metal and oil in the air. We don’t have an air conditioner so we just leave the big doors open to catch whatever breeze there is. Most of the guys have grease under their fingernails and their clothes are usually stained by noon. It’s hard work but it’s what we know. We get all sorts of people coming in with broken parts or things that need fixing. We don't have a fancy reception area. If you come by, you’ll probably find us hunched over a workbench or talking to a truck driver about some repairs. We’ve got some old wooden benches where people can sit while they wait. The floor is concrete and it’s covered in metal shavings that we sweep up at the end of the day. Sometimes we stay late if there’s a lot of work to finish. It’s not glamorous at all. We just focus on getting the jobs done so people can get back to their own work. It’s just a local shop in a busy part of town and we like the routine of it. My hands are almost always dirty from the grease and it's a bit of a mess but we know where everything is.
