Shiv Cement Agency is located right on Bus Stand Road in Behror. It’s a very busy spot because of all the people coming and going from the buses. There is a lot of shouting and the sound of horns blowing all day long. Our shop is simple, with the bags of cement stacked high in the back. We spend a lot of time out front watching the traffic and waiting for customers to pull up. Most of the people who buy from us are locals building houses or small contractors from around Behror. We keep a ledger on the main counter to track everything, and it’s usually covered in a bit of dust. The floor is concrete and we don’t bother with much furniture, just a couple of stools for when someone wants to sit and talk for a bit. Sometimes the dust from the road gets inside, so we are always dusting off the desk. It’s not a fancy place, but it serves the purpose. We know many of the bus drivers who pass by every day. Lunch is usually something picked up from one of the nearby stalls. We stay open as long as the buses are running, which means some nights we are here quite late. It’s a basic life, selling cement to the people in our town, and we’ve been doing it right here on this road for many years. We just keep an eye on the road and wait for the next customer.
