Sgn Steel

Our warehouse is over in Sector 1 of the Tala Nagri Industrial Estate. It’s right near Ramghat Road, which makes it easy for the big trucks to get in and out. Sgn Steel is what we call the place. We mostly deal with structural steel and some scrap that comes through. It’s a loud environment with the cranes and the metal clanging around all day. You have to wear boots and keep your head up when you're walking the floor. We supply a lot of the local builders who are working on projects around the industrial estate or further out in the city. It’s not a glamorous job, but steel is needed for everything. We spend a lot of time checking the gauges and making sure the inventory matches what the books say. Some days are slower than others, depending on the construction market. We’ve seen the Tala Nagri area grow quite a bit since we first opened up here. There are more factories now and the traffic on Ramghat Road has definitely gotten heavier. We just keep our heads down and handle the orders as they come in. If a customer needs a specific length cut, we do our best to get it done quickly. It’s just us and the metal, day in and day out. No fancy sales pitches, just the raw material people need for their builds. It is a tough job but it pays the bills and keeps the town growing.
