Rack Factory

Our workshop is at A-199 in Okhla Phase-I. If you’ve ever been to Okhla, you know it’s a lot of metal and industrial noise. That’s exactly what we do—we make racks. We spend the whole day cutting steel, welding pieces together, and then painting them so they don't rust later. The air in the factory usually smells like burnt metal and fresh paint. It’s a big open space, but it fills up fast when we have a lot of orders coming in at once. We don't have an office with air conditioning; we just have a small desk in the corner with a dusty computer and a bunch of ledgers. Most of the time, we’re on our feet on the concrete floor. We make all sorts of storage stuff, from the tiny shelves for small shops to the massive racks for big warehouses. Everything is heavy. We use a lot of manual labor and some old machines that we’ve kept running for years. Okhla Phase-I is always busy, so there’s a constant stream of trucks coming in and out of the gates. We usually have the big shutter doors wide open to let the air circulate, especially when it’s hot in the summer. It’s a lot of hard work, and we usually go home with dirty hands and tired backs. But there’s something nice about seeing a finished rack ready to be loaded onto a truck at the end of the day. It’s honest work.
