Thottathil Granites

Our place is called Thottathil Granites and we are based in Edthala. The address is Post- Erumathale, in the Ernakulam district. We are near the Idea office, which is how most people find us. Ernakulam has that specific climate where it’s either very hot or very rainy, and both make working with granite a challenge. When it’s pouring down, we have to be extra careful with the machinery and the wet stone. The yard is usually quite busy with activity. We have stacks of granite that we move around depending on what we need to get to. It’s a lot of physical labor, and by the end of the day, we are all pretty tired. Edthala is a nice area to work in, though. There is some greenery around that makes the place feel a bit more relaxed than a city center. We don't have a corporate structure or anything like that. It’s a family-style operation where everyone chips in. We spend our time checking the inventory and making sure the yard is in decent shape. The stone arrives on big trucks and we have to guide them in through the gates, which is always a bit of a squeeze. We’ve been part of the Erumathale community for some time, just doing our thing and keeping the business going day by day. It’s not a complicated life, but it keeps us busy.
