Shyam Dairy Products

Our spot is right on Thornhill Road, at number 44. It’s a busy enough place, especially in the mornings when the deliveries come in. Shyam Dairy Products has been operating out of here for a bit, and we’ve mostly gotten used to the constant hum of the cooling units. It’s never really quiet in the building. We spend a lot of time checking the temperatures and making sure the milk and other things are stored right. The staff is just a few regular people from the neighborhood. We drink a lot of tea while we wait for the trucks to show up. The floor is made of concrete and we have to wash it down constantly because spills happen more than you’d think. It’s not a shiny corporate office or anything like that. We’ve got some old wooden chairs and a calendar that’s usually a month behind. People stop by sometimes just to ask about prices or to see if we have anything fresh ready. We try to be helpful, but mostly we are just busy moving heavy crates around. It’s physically tiring work, and your back usually hurts by the end of the shift. We don’t do much advertising; people just know where we are. We just keep the machines running and try to make sure nothing spoils before it heads out. We like the routine and the familiar faces that drop by every day to pick up their supplies.
