Bhagwan Das Prahlad Das & Sons

Our family has been running Bhagwan Das Prahlad Das & Sons for quite a few years now. We are located at 83/113 on Zero Road in Allahabad City. If you are familiar with the area, we are right opposite Sharda Bhawan. Zero Road is a place that is always full of life, with people walking by and cycle rickshaws trying to get through the narrow gaps. Our shop is a bit old now, and we have stuff piled up on shelves that goes back a ways. It’s a family business, so you’ll usually find one of us behind the counter. We don't really have a big staff or a human resources department. It’s just us and a couple of helpers who have been with us for years. The building is old and the walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but it feels like home to us. We see the same faces coming in year after year, which is nice. Allahabad City has changed a lot, but Zero Road still has that old feeling to it. We don't use any fancy computer systems for everything; a lot of our notes are still kept in paper ledgers. It works for us, and we know where everything is. Sometimes it gets a bit dusty with all the traffic outside, but that’s just how it is. We open up in the morning, sit through the heat of the afternoon, and close up when the sun goes down. It’s a simple life.
