S B Pattern Works

Being in Siddiqu Market means there is always something going on outside. S B Pattern Works is located right near the Bari Masjid, so we hear the calls through the day. Our address is 4/982 on Anoopshahar Road. Aligarh is a busy place, and this market is no exception. We have been working out of this space for quite some time now. The workshop is usually full of wood scraps and metal bits because making patterns is messy work. It’s not the kind of place where you’d want to wear your best clothes. My father started things here, and now we just keep the machines running. We don't have a big office or anything. Most of the space is just for the tools and the benches where we sit. If you come by, you might have to step over a few things to get to the back. We don't mind. The neighborhood is tight-knit, and everyone knows everyone else around the Bari Masjid area. We just focus on getting the measurements right. It takes a lot of patience to get a pattern exactly how it should be. Sometimes it gets frustrating when a piece doesn't fit, but that’s the job. We stay late if we have to. Aligarh has its own pace, and we just try to keep up with it. It's honest work, and it keeps us busy from Monday to Saturday without much fuss. We just do what we know and keep our heads down.
