You’ll find Torry Harris Seafoods Ltd at V/143 A, right near the Eramalloor Post Office. We’ve had P.B. No.2 for ages, and the locals all know where we are. Dealing with seafood means our schedule is mostly set by the boats and the tides, not by a clock on the wall. It’s a wet, messy kind of job, and we’re usually wearing rubber boots and aprons most of the day. The building itself is older, but it serves its purpose for processing everything that comes through the doors. We aren’t really into the corporate side of things; we’re more about the crates and the ice. Eramalloor is a good place to be, even if the traffic on the main road can be a bit of a headache when we’re trying to get shipments out. We have a small team, and most of us have been working together for a decade or more. We know each other's families and what’s going on in the village. It’s a loud place sometimes, with the machines humming and people shouting over the noise to get things organized. We don't have a mission statement on the wall or anything like that. We just try to get the fish processed and packed before it loses its freshness. It’s hard work, and your hands are always cold, but it’s what we know. We’re just a local business trying to do things the right way without making a big deal of it.
