Assa Sea Foods

Down here in Alappuzha, we have our place called Assa Sea Foods. We are located in the Vandanam P.O area, which is a good spot for what we do. Since we are so close to the water, seafood is just a natural part of life for everyone around here. We spend our time handling the daily catch and getting everything processed. It’s a lot of physical work with heavy crates and plenty of ice to keep everything from spoiling. The smell of the sea is always around the building. We aren't a big company with a bunch of offices and fancy desks. We are just a local operation working out of this facility. The floors are usually wet because we are always washing things down to keep it clean and tidy. It’s a messy job but it has to be done right every single day. We don't have any fancy logos or big mission statements posted on the walls. We just get the fish and the prawns ready for wherever they need to go next. Some days the weather is nice and the work goes fast, but during the monsoon season, everything slows down and gets a bit more difficult for everyone. We have been at this address for quite a while now and we know the local fishermen well. It’s a simple life, focused on the daily tasks and making sure we get through the load. We just do our bit and go home at the end of the day.
