D & V Wire Cut Bricks Industries

If you head down Valiyakulangara Road in Cherukole, you’ll find us at number 4. D & V Wire Cut Bricks Industries is basically just a local spot where we spend our days making bricks the old-fashioned way, mostly. We’ve got the wire-cut setup going, which is a bit of a process, but it’s what we know how to do best. The yard isn't huge, but it's enough for what we need. My brother and I started this because there was a lot of building going on around Cherukole and not enough good bricks to go around. It’s a lot of manual labor, getting the clay right and making sure the wire cuts are clean enough to use. We aren't trying to be some giant corporation; we just want to make sure the local builders have what they need when they show up in their tractors or small trucks. Some days the machinery gives us a bit of trouble, and we have to spend the afternoon fixing things instead of making bricks, but that’s part of the job. It’s usually quiet here except for the sound of the equipment and the occasional neighbor stopping by for a chat. We’ve been at this for a few years now, and the stacks of red bricks out front just keep growing and shrinking as the weeks go by. It’s honest work, and it keeps us out of trouble mostly. We try to keep things simple and just focus on the daily tasks without overcomplicating things.
