If you head over to Khailand Market, you'll see Sikender Engineering right near the Main Market area. It's a busy part of town with a lot of foot traffic and scooters buzzing by. Being so close to the main market means we are always in the thick of things. We do engineering work, mostly repairs and small-scale manufacturing for people who drop in. Our shop isn't very large, so we have to keep things organized to make room for the machines and the projects we are working on. You can usually hear the sound of metal being worked on if you walk past. We’ve been in this location for a while, and most of the other shop owners nearby know us. It’s a different vibe than being in a big industrial park. People come in with broken parts or ideas for things they need made, and we see what we can do. It's a lot of hands-on work. The space is a bit cramped, especially when we have several big projects going at once. We don't have a big staff, just a few of us who know how to handle the tools. It’s a simple setup, but it works for the kind of jobs we get. Most of our day is spent at the workbench or on the lathe. Sometimes customers stay and chat while we look at their stuff. It gets noisy with the street sounds mixing with our grinding, but we don't mind much.
