If you head over to A-19 at Naka Madar, you will find our place. We make emery stones, which is a dusty and heavy kind of business to be in. The floor is always covered in a bit of grit and the air has that earthy smell of crushed rock. We have been at this for a long time now. It’s a family-run sort of setup where everyone knows their job. The stones come in different sizes and we spend a lot of time getting the edges right. It is not the kind of work you can do with a suit on. We wear our old clothes and get our hands dirty every single day. The machinery we use is old but it still works perfectly for what we need. Sometimes the neighbors complain about the noise, but most people around Naka Madar are used to the sound of industry by now. We have a small truck that takes the finished stones out to the buyers. There isn't a fancy showroom here. If you want to see what we have, you just walk into the shed and look at the stacks. It is a straightforward way of living. We don't spend money on big signs or television ads. The quality of the stones speaks for itself when the grain mills start using them. We just keep our heads down and work.
