Our shop is tucked away in Halwai Gali near Agra Gate in Pushkar. It’s an old part of town and the streets are quite narrow. We’ve been operating under the name Pamandaslaichand for a long time. Being in Halwai Gali means we are surrounded by the smells of sweets and food all day long. It’s a very traditional area and we like being part of the history here. Most of our customers are locals who have been coming to this street for generations. We don't have a big sign or anything flashy. People just know where Agra Gate is and they find their way to us through the crowds. Pushkar gets very crowded during the festivals and the fairs, and our little corner of the market becomes even busier than usual. We mostly deal with everyday goods that people in this neighborhood need for their homes. The shop is small and we have to stack things high to make everything fit in the space we have. It can be a bit of a squeeze when there are a few people inside at once. We don't really do much in the way of modern business stuff; we just open the doors in the morning and wait for the regulars to stop by. It’s a slow-paced life compared to the big cities, but there is always someone to talk to in the Gali. We just keep things running like they always have been and don't change much.
