Jai Jhulelal Pani Patasi Wala

Our little shop, Jai Jhulelal Pani Patasi Wala, is at Shop No - 14 in the Madar Gate area, right near Gandhi Bazar on Jaipur Road. It is a very small space, but we don't need much to do what we do. Every day starts with preparing the spicy water and the potatoes for the pani patasi. It takes a lot of time to get the flavors right, and we do it all by hand every morning before the bazar gets busy. By the afternoon, the crowd starts to pick up, and people stand around the shop eating from the small plates. It’s a noisy part of town with all the shoppers and the motorbikes zooming past Gandhi Bazar, but we like the energy of it. Sometimes the line gets a bit long and people have to wait, but nobody seems to mind too much as they talk to each other while they wait. We’ve been at this spot for a while, and we know most of the other shopkeepers around us. It is hard work standing on your feet all day and serving hundreds of people, especially when the weather is humid. We don't have any fancy seating or decorations, just the counter and the containers for the food. We just focus on making the patasi the way we always have and keeping the shop tidy. It is a simple business, and we are just glad to be part of the daily life in Madar Gate.
