About Gopal Oil Company – Food & Beverages in Ajmer
Nala Bazar is always a bit chaotic, and our place at 17/223 is right in the thick of it. We handle different types of oils here. The containers are heavy and sometimes the floor gets a little slick if we aren't careful during the pouring. It’s an old building, so it has its quirks like the uneven walls and the way the light comes in through the front. We’ve been here long enough that we know most of the other shopkeepers around the bazar. There is always a lot of shouting and horns honking outside our door. Inside, it’s just rows of drums and smaller cans. We don’t use any fancy computers for everything; a lot of it is still written down in ledgers because that’s how it’s always been done. The air usually smells a bit like grease or raw oil depending on what we’re moving that day. We don’t have a lounge or fancy chairs for people to sit in. If someone comes in, they usually just stand by the counter while we get their order together. It’s hard work, especially when the weather is hot and the bazar is crowded. We focus on getting the right oil into the right containers. It’s a simple life, really. We open up early, deal with the deliveries, and try to keep the place as clean as an oil shop can be. There's always tea coming from the stall next door.
