Geeta Cloth Emporium

If you're driving down Jaipur Road in Krishanganj, you’ll see Geeta Cloth Emporium right across from Anasagar Lake. It’s a nice view, though we are usually too busy inside to look at the water much. The shop is filled with rolls of cloth and different materials. We’ve been here for a good bit of time now. The traffic on the road can be a bit much, especially during the tourist season when the lake area gets crowded. We just keep our heads down and work. The shop is a bit old-fashioned. We still use the same old wooden counters we've had forever. There’s no fancy air conditioning, just a few ceiling fans that hum all day long. People stop in after walking by the lake. It's a local business, through and through. We don't do any big advertising. Word of mouth keeps us going. Most days, it's just about helping someone find the right shade of fabric for a suit or a dress. Sometimes we run out of space for all the new stock, so things get piled up in the corners. It's a bit of a squeeze sometimes when three or four families come in at once. We just do our best to help everyone out. It’s honest work and we like being near the lake. We aren't open on some holidays, but usually, you can find us here from early on until we shut the doors for the night.
