If you go down Ful Gali towards Hazi Gate House in Nala Bazar, you will find Pankaj Fenshi Store. We are tucked away in a spot that might be hard to see at first if you are rushing through. The shop is filled with all sorts of items that people need for their daily lives or special occasions. We try to keep things organized, but in a small space like this, it is a constant struggle. We have items piled up to the ceiling sometimes. It is a family-run thing, so you will usually see one of us sitting behind the counter reading a newspaper or talking to a friend. We know most of the people who walk by by their first names. Nala Bazar is always crowded, especially in the evenings when everyone is out shopping for dinner. We stay open late because that is when most of our customers have the time to stop in. There is no air conditioning, just a couple of ceiling fans that hum all day long. It gets dusty because of the road work nearby, but we wipe things down every morning before we start. We are just a regular store trying to provide what the neighborhood needs. It is not a glamorous job, but it is what we do. Sometimes we run out of things, but we try to get them back in stock quickly.
