Ajmera Gramodhyog Sansthan

Ajmera Gramodhyog Sansthan is located in Pushkar Village on Banseli Street. It’s a quiet part of the world, away from the main tourist tracks. Our building is a simple structure that fits right in with the other houses on the street. We deal with local goods and things made by hand in the village. The air here is often filled with the smell of woodsmoke and dust from the road. We spend our days talking to the local people and organizing the items they bring to us. There is no air conditioning, just the breeze coming through the open windows and a ceiling fan that wobbles a bit. We have a stone floor that stays cool even when the sun is hot outside. Banseli Street is narrow, so we see the neighbors walking their goats or driving small tractors past our door. We sit on woven mats sometimes when the chairs are full. It’s a very slow pace of life compared to the big cities. We don't have a website or a big sign, just our name and our location in Pushkar Village. We keep our records in a thick cloth-bound book. Sometimes we have to stop work because the power goes out, but we just sit outside and wait for it to come back. It’s a community effort here at Ajmera Gramodhyog Sansthan. We just try to do our part for the village and keep things moving along.
