Over in Sector-8 B of Gandhinagar, you’ll find us at 481/2 in the Gokul Society. This is where we teach students about the hotel and tourism business. It’s a college, but it feels more like a busy workshop most of the time. We have classrooms where the instructors talk about how to manage a kitchen or how to run a front desk, and then we have practical areas where students actually get their hands dirty. Gandhinagar is a planned city, so everything is in these numbered sectors, and Sector-8 is a pretty quiet spot usually. The students come from all over the state, looking to get a start in the hospitality world. We aren't a giant university with thousands of people; we’re a smaller setup where everyone knows everyone’s name. The office is usually full of admission forms and exam papers. We spend a lot of time making sure the curriculum matches what’s actually happening in real hotels. It’s not all textbooks and theory here. We talk about the real problems, like how to handle a difficult customer or what to do when the kitchen runs out of an ingredient. The building itself is simple, just a regular part of the Gokul Society. We open the doors early and stay until the last evening classes are done. It’s just a place for learning the trade, without any of the extra fluff you see in brochures for bigger schools.
