Vikas Pipe Syndicate Madhuram Distributors operates out of Ravi Chambers on Relief Road. We are down on the ground floor in unit 1Gf. Relief Road is one of those places that is always packed with people, and the noise from the Relief Cinema nearby adds to the atmosphere. Being on the ground floor is lucky because moving pipes and heavy distribution items would be a nightmare if we had to use stairs. The space is filled with inventory and the smell of metal and plastic. It is a bit cramped because we try to keep as much stock on hand as possible. Our desks are squeezed into the corners between the stacks of pipes. We spend a lot of time on the phone with suppliers and checking the inventory lists against what is actually on the shelves. The floor is concrete and stays cool even when it is burning hot outside. There is a lot of dust that comes in from the street because of all the traffic. We usually have the door wide open so people can see we are in. It isn't a fancy office by any means, just a working warehouse and distribution point. We eat our lunch right at our desks most days because things stay busy. The lights hum a little bit and the ceiling fan wobbles, but it gets the job done. We just keep our heads down and handle the daily grind of the pipe business.
