Patel Fiber Glass Chemicals

We set up Patel Fiber Glass Chemicals at Plot No. 1224 in Phase-3 of the GIDC. Working with fiberglass is a messy business. You get the fibers on your clothes and it stays there all day. We have been doing this for a long time now. The yard is usually full of barrels and stacks of finished goods waiting for the truck to arrive. We use a lot of resins and chemicals that have a very strong smell, so you can usually tell where we are before you even see the sign. It is a practical operation. We don’t have a HR department or a PR person. If there is a problem, we just talk it out on the shop floor. The sun beats down on the tin roof in the summer, making it quite hot inside. We just keep the fans running and keep working. Sometimes an order is late because the raw materials didn't show up, but that is just how it goes sometimes. We try to be honest with our customers about when things will be ready. There are no fancy promises here, just a lot of manual labor and trying to get the mixes right. The neighborhood is mostly other small factories like ours, so we all understand the daily struggles. We drink our tea together and wait for the shifts to end. It’s a hard living but we are used to the routine.
