You can find us at number 12 in Murlidhar Society Part 2. We are very close to the Gebansha Pir bus stop on Vatva Road, so you can hear the buses pulling up and the conductors shouting all day long. It is a small corner spot, which is why we call it that. We don’t have a lot of room, so we have to be very careful about where we put the new arrivals. The shelves go all the way up to the ceiling, and I usually have to use a shaky wooden stool to reach the top ones. People often stop in while they are waiting for their bus, just to see what’s new or to escape the heat for a minute. The floor is tile and stays relatively cool, which is nice in the summer months. We don’t really do any advertising. Most people just see the mannequins in the window when they walk past. One of them has a chipped arm, but we still use it because it holds the fabric well. We have a small changing area in the back behind a curtain. It’s nothing special, but it serves the purpose. We spend a lot of time chatting with the regulars who live in the society. It feels more like a hangout spot than a store sometimes. We just keep things moving and try to stay stocked up for whoever comes in during the day.
