Uma Garments

Uma Garments is located over at B-30 in the Puspak Estate. If you’re looking for us, we’re right near the Patel Milk Compound in Rakiwal. It’s an industrial sort of area, so there are always trucks moving and the smell of the city is pretty strong here. We’ve been in this unit for quite a while now. The space is filled with sewing machines and tables for cutting fabric. It’s not the cleanest place in the world because of all the lint and scraps of cloth that end up on the floor, but we sweep up every evening. We mostly focus on putting clothes together. It’s a lot of sitting and focused work. Sometimes the radio is playing in the background to keep everyone moving. We don't have a fancy front desk or a receptionist. If you come by, you’ll probably just see one of us working on a machine or packing boxes. We handle a lot of different sizes and styles, whatever is needed at the time. The building is older, and the stairs are a bit narrow, but it works for us. We know the other folks in the estate, and we often share a cup of tea during the afternoon break. We just want to get the work done and get the orders out to the shops on time. It’s a tough business sometimes, but we’re used to the pace by now.
