The Metropole Hotel

The Metropole Hotel. We are over here in Meera Society in Ahmedabad. It’s a building where people come to stay when they have work in the city or are just passing through. Our address is 6/A and it’s a pretty easy spot to find if you know the area. We have been running things here for some time. The staff comes in early to get the rooms ready. It isn’t like those huge chain hotels you see in movies, it’s more grounded. We have folks from different parts of Gujarat staying with us. In the mornings, the kitchen is busy and there’s the smell of tea and breakfast. We talk to the guests about their day. Sometimes the elevator acts up or we have to fix a leak, that’s just how it is with buildings. We don’t use big words or have fancy brochures. We just show people to their rooms and give them their keys. Ahmedabad gets busy, especially around 382340, so we see a lot of traffic outside. We clean the lobby and make sure the chairs are neat. It’s a lot of work keeping a hotel going every day without much rest. We take things as they come. It's just us working here, trying to make sure the lights stay on and the beds are made. The neighborhood is usually noisy but we try to keep it calm inside for everyone who comes to visit us.
