The Computer Doctors

The shop is tucked away in Shop No 3 at Mahalaxmi Market 2, right there by the Maninagar Cross Road. We spend most of our days surrounded by open laptop cases and tangled wires. It’s been that way for a long time now. If you’re coming from the Maninagar Railway Station, it’s just a short walk over. People usually drop by when their computer stops turning on or the screen goes dark for no reason. It can be frustrating when your work gets stuck like that. We understand because we deal with it all day. The space isn’t very big, but we have enough room for our tools and the spare parts we keep on hand. Sometimes the fans are humming loudly while we run tests. It gets pretty busy around noon when people are out running errands in the market. We don't really do anything fancy here, just basic repairs and fixing whatever parts got broken. My desk is usually covered in tiny screws that I have to keep track of. Ahmedabad gets quite dusty, so cleaning out those internal fans is a big part of the job too. We see students from the neighborhood and shop owners from nearby needing help with their systems. It’s just honest work. We open up in the morning and stay until the last job of the day is mostly sorted. It’s a bit messy sometimes, but that’s how a repair shop looks when work is happening.
