If you come down to the New Cloth Market near Raipur Gate, you’ll find us on the top floor. It’s a bit of a climb, but the air is a little clearer up there. We’ve been trading here for quite some time now. The market is always loud and crowded, especially in the mornings when the new stock arrives. We deal with all sorts of fabrics and textiles. It’s a busy life, talking to weavers and then finding buyers. Our office isn’t anything special, just desks and lots of samples everywhere. You can barely see the floor sometimes. We like being in Sarangpur; it feels like the heart of the trade. My cousin helps me out with the accounts, and we have a few guys who handle the heavy lifting. We don’t have a big marketing team or anything like that. Word of mouth usually does the trick for us. We try to stay honest about the quality of the cloth. If something isn't right, we say so. It saves trouble later on. The tea stall downstairs makes the best chai, which helps on the long afternoons. We're just regular people trying to run a decent business in a fast-moving market. Every day is different, depending on what the trends are. We just keep our heads down and work. The market has its own rhythm and we are just happy to be part of it.
