We are up on the second floor of the Mahalaxmi Complex at number 211. Gheekanta Road is always packed tight with people and rickshaws. Getting up to the second floor can be a bit of a hike, but it is much quieter up here than it is down on the street level. We have a few machines running for most of the day. The sound of the needles hitting the fabric is pretty constant. We do a lot of the cutting and stitching right here in the back room. There are spools of thread in every color hanging from hooks on the wall. We have been in this building for quite a while now. The landlord is a decent enough guy who leaves us to our work. We don't have a fancy showroom with glass cases. It is more of a workspace where we get things done. We drink a lot of chai just to keep our energy up. Sometimes the deliveries are late because the traffic on Gheekanta Road is just impossible. We don't mind too much because we always have something else to work on. It is just us doing our thing every day. We don't have big goals of being famous or anything. We just want to make sure the clothes are put together well. It is honest work and it keeps us busy.
