Style Selection

Working at Style Selection means being in the middle of the Revdi Bazar chaos every single day. Our spot is No. 430 in the Shriram Cloth Market, right on the cross lane. If you have ever been to Revdi Bazar, you know how it is with the narrow lanes, people carrying heavy bundles of cloth on their shoulders, and the constant shouting of traders. It is loud and it is dusty, but that is just how the cloth market works. Our shop is not very large, but we pack a lot of material into it. Every inch of wall space has rolls of fabric or samples hanging up on hooks. We spend a lot of time talking to folks who come in from out of town looking for specific materials. Sometimes we are just sitting on the floor sorting through new arrivals that came in late the night before. The Shriram Cloth Market has been around for a long time, and you can see it in the old walls and the narrow wooden stairs. We do not have air conditioning that works very well, so we keep the ceiling fans going all day long. Lunch usually happens right there at the counter between customers. It is a busy life, and by the time we close up the shutters in the evening, we are usually pretty tired. But then we just do it all again the next morning. It is the way things go down here in the Cross Lane.
