Stitchwell Garments

Stitchwell Garments is located at 2011/B in the Vatva Gidc area. We are right across from the Aec Gas Station in Phase IV. It’s a real industrial setting here in Ahmedabad. Every morning we come in and open up the shutters, and the sound of the nearby factories is already going. Our space is full of sewing machines and long tables for cutting fabric. It’s not the cleanest or the quietest place, but it’s where we work. We have a bunch of people who have been with us since we first set up in Vatva. We don't have a fancy lobby or any air conditioning in the main work area, just some big ceiling fans that move the hot air around. We spend our days dealing with thread, needles, and piles of cloth. Sometimes the machines break down and we have to spend half the morning fixing them ourselves. We don't have a big marketing budget or any fancy brochures. We just rely on the fact that we’ve been here a long time and people in the Gidc know where to find us. Lunch is usually a tiffin brought from home, eaten together in the back room. By the time we close up in the evening, we are all pretty tired, but it’s a good kind of tired. We just do our work, manage the orders as they come, and head home to do it all again tomorrow.
