Rushan Silk

Our place is located at No. 5 Star Duplex, right inside the Chhipa Society. It’s a more residential feel than a main road shop, which we actually quite like. Rushan Silk has been operating from here for a bit now. We specialize in silk fabrics, and our space is usually draped in different colors and textures of cloth. It isn't a place with big glass windows and bright spotlights. Instead, it feels more like a home where we do business. We spend a lot of time with the weavers and suppliers to make sure the silk we have is actually good quality. When people come to visit, they usually sit down and we go through the different pieces together. It’s a slow process, not like those fast-fashion stores where you just grab something and leave. We talk about the patterns and the weight of the fabric. Sometimes the society is quiet, and other times there’s a lot going on with the neighbors. We’ve built a reputation over time just by being here and being consistent. We don't do any big advertising campaigns. Most people find out about us from their friends or family. It’s a simple way of doing things, but it has worked for us. We just enjoy working with the materials and seeing the final products come together for our customers. It feels like we are doing something meaningful with our hands.
