Shreenathji Medical & Provision Store

Our store, Shreenathji Medical & Provision Store, is at Shop Number 13 in the Kalgi Apartment building on Dakshini Road. It’s right in the Maninagar area, and Jai Hind High School is very close by. Because of the school, we get a lot of kids coming in for small things like snacks or cold drinks after their classes are over. The rest of the time, it’s mostly families from the apartments nearby who need their regular medicine or household items like detergent and oil. The shop is not very big, so we have to be clever about where we put everything. We have the medical section on one side and the provision items on the other. It gets a bit dusty because of the road traffic, so there is a lot of cleaning to do every morning before we open properly. We’ve seen the neighborhood change over the years, but the shop stays pretty much the same. The floor is made of old tiles, and the overhead lights are quite bright so we can read the small writing on the medicine packs. We don't have a computer for everything; some things are still noted down in a ledger. It’s just how we’ve always done it. When it rains, the water splashes near the entrance, so we have to move the display racks inside a bit. It’s a simple life here.
