Shree Umiya Surgical Pvt. Ltd.

Down here at Plot No. 4704 Phase No. 4, things stay pretty steady. Shree Umiya Surgical Pvt. Ltd. has been operating out of this G.I.D.C. Estate in Vatva for some time now. Most days start early, around nine, when the gates get opened. This part of the estate is mostly workshops and small factories, so you hear the sound of metal and trucks all day long. Our building is a simple structure with a lot of space for the surgical goods we handle. We have a small crew that has been with us for years. We don't really bother with fancy uniforms or big titles; everyone just chips in where they can. The office part is just a couple of desks and some old filing cabinets near the front. In the summer, it gets really dusty because of all the traffic on the estate roads, so we are always dusting off the boxes. We take our lunch breaks together and usually talk about local news or the weather. It’s a very grounded way to work. We don't have a big sales pitch or anything like that. We just focus on the surgical items and making sure they are packed right. Sometimes the electricity goes out for an hour or so, and we just sit outside in the shade until it comes back on. It’s just the way things are here in Vatva, and we are used to it.
