Shree Medical

Working at Shree Medical is a bit different because we are right in front of the Civil OPD at the Civil Hospital. It is a very busy place to be every single day. From the moment we open, there are people everywhere, usually looking a bit stressed because they have family members inside the hospital. We try to keep things moving fast because nobody wants to wait around when they have someone waiting for medicine in a ward. The shop is always full of the smell of antiseptic and the sound of people talking in the hallways. It’s a small space, but we keep it stocked with all the essentials that hospital visitors need. Sometimes we are the first place people go when they get a prescription from the doctors across the way. It gets very crowded in the mornings when the OPD opens up, and we barely have time to sit down. I've learned to recognize the doctors and nurses who come over for a quick bottle of water or some cough drops. It’s a lot of work, and the energy around the hospital is always heavy, but we do our part to make things a little easier for the families. We stay open late because illnesses don't follow a schedule. The pavement outside is always busy with tea sellers and people waiting for buses. It’s a constant stream of life and problems, and we are just here in the middle of it all, handing out packets and bottles to those in need.
