Fabrit Fashion Wear

Our shop, Fabrit Fashion Wear, is located at H-30 in Madhavpura Market. We are pretty close to the Police Commissioner's office on Shahibaug Road here in Ahmedabad. Being in the market means it’s always crowded and there’s always someone shouting or a scooter honking outside. We sell clothes, mostly things for everyday use. The shop is packed with rolls of fabric and ready-made pieces. Sometimes it’s hard to find a place to sit because there are so many bags waiting to be picked up. We don’t have those big glass windows like the malls do. It’s more of a traditional market stall feel. People come in, look through the stacks, and we talk about what they need. I’ve been working here for years and the neighborhood has changed a lot, but the market stays busy. We deal with a lot of different people every day. Some are looking for something specific, others just want a good deal. We try to keep our prices fair. My desk is usually covered in receipts and fabric scraps. It’s a bit messy but I know where everything is. We don't have a website or anything like that, we just rely on people coming by H-30. It’s a honest way to make a living and we enjoy being part of the Shahibaug community, even when the market traffic is a headache every single afternoon.
