Our place, Semitronik Pvt. Ltd., is located at No. 17-Cd in the Archana Industrial Estate. This is on Rakhial Road, which is a pretty busy industrial hub. Being in an estate means we are surrounded by other workshops and small factories. There’s always a bit of a hum in the air from machinery nearby. Our unit is mostly dedicated to electronics and technical work. We have workbenches set up with soldering irons and testing meters. It’s not the cleanest environment, as there are always wires and components scattered around while we work on something. We have a small corner for the office work where the computer sits. The lighting is bright because we need to see the small parts we handle. We get a lot of deliveries throughout the day, so the door is usually propped open. The people working here are mostly locals who have been doing this for years. We don't have a big HR department or anything; we just manage ourselves and get the orders out. The tea break is the highlight of the afternoon when we all step outside for a bit of air. Rakhial Road is always moving, and we are just one small part of that movement. It’s a grit-and-gears kind of life, and we are quite comfortable with that. We just focus on the boards and the circuits and try to make sure everything works like it’s supposed to.
