Satyam Fashion House

You can find Satyam Fashion House over in Kalupur, specifically in Khajuri Ni Pole near Tankshal. If you know this part of the city, you know how tight the lanes are. It’s an old area with a lot of history and a lot of noise. Our shop is in one of those buildings where the stairs are a bit steep and the walls have been painted many times over. We don’t have a big storefront on a main road. People usually find us by asking around or because they’ve been coming here for a long time. The morning starts with clearing the dust that comes in from the street. The rickshaws and carts are always rattling past outside. Inside, it’s a bit quieter but still full of activity. We have clothes draped over the chairs and piles of stuff waiting to be sorted. Sometimes the neighbors pop their heads in just to say hello. It feels like a small village inside the city. We don't use a computer for much; it’s mostly just paper notes and old habits. The light in the back of the shop is a bit dim, so we do most of our work near the front where the sun hits. It’s not a perfect setup, but it’s ours and we’ve gotten used to the way things work here over the years. We keep things plain and straightforward because that’s what works for a place like this in Kalupur.
