Sarovar Portico

Our hotel is located right in the middle of Ahmedabad, with the zip code 380001. Being in this part of Gujarat means we are right in the thick of things. We spend our time here at Sarovar Portico managing the daily operations of a hotel. It’s a lot of work that people don't always see, like making sure the linens are delivered on time and that the kitchen is stocked for breakfast. We don't use any flowery language or corporate talk when we are behind the scenes. We just talk about who is arriving and what needs fixing in the rooms. The building is a constant hive of activity, and sometimes it gets a bit chaotic when a large group checks in all at once. We have a staff room where we sit and have our meals, and it’s usually filled with the sound of someone complaining about the traffic on the way in. The lobby is the face of the place, but the real work happens in the hallways and the back offices. We’ve been operating in this part of the city for a good while, and we know the local area like the back of our hands. It isn't always perfect, and sometimes a lightbulb goes out or a guest is unhappy, but we just deal with it as it comes. It's a straightforward job and we are just the people here making sure the doors stay open and things keep moving along.
