You can find us at 112 in The Grand Monarch Shopping Mall. It’s right on the 100 Feet Ring Road near Seema Hall in the Satellite area of Ahmedabad. Being in a mall means there’s always something happening right outside the door. Saphalya Architects Interior Designers isn’t a massive corporate firm; it’s more of a place where we sit down and figure things out. We deal with both the structure of a place and how it looks inside. It keeps us pretty busy. Most of our day is spent between the computer screen and talking to contractors on the phone. Sometimes we have to head out to the site to make sure things are actually being built the way we drew them. Ahmedabad is a big city and traffic on the Ring Road can be a nightmare in the evenings, but we’re used to it by now. The office is a bit small, packed with folders and old project files, but it’s ours. We don't have a fancy reception area or anything like that. We just have our workstations and a space to talk. People from the neighborhood often stop by because they know where Seema Hall is. It’s a good landmark for us. We just try to do honest work and make sure the spaces we design are actually usable for the people living in them. It's about getting the measurements right and making sure the light fits the room. Some days we leave early, and some days we stay quite late. It just depends on the work.
