Salt Clothing Company

Our shop is over in the Old Maheshwari Mill Compound in Shahibaug. It is an old industrial area, so the buildings have that thick, heavy feel to them. Being at B-5 in Shayona Golden Square means we are around a lot of other businesses doing the same kind of work. We make clothes here, and there is always the sound of machines or scissors cutting through cloth. It is not a polished office or a fancy showroom. It is a place where work actually happens. The floors are concrete and they get dusty pretty fast no matter how much we sweep. We spend the whole day looking at patterns and making sure the stitching is okay. Shahibaug can get really hot, and the air inside the compound feels heavy sometimes. We usually keep the big doors open to catch a breeze. It is a long walk from the main gate, but people find their way to us eventually. We do not have much in the way of signs or decorations. Just the clothes we are working on and some racks to hold them. It is a bit of a maze getting back here through all the other units, but once you are inside, it is just us doing our thing. Sometimes we stay late when a big batch needs finishing, and the whole compound gets quiet except for our unit. It is just a regular workplace for regular people making stuff.
