K. Siya Fashion

K. Siya Fashion is over at No. 49 on the first floor of the Shri Ram Cloth Market. Being in the market means it is always noisy and crowded. We spend most of our time surrounded by rolls of fabric and half-finished pieces. Climbing those stairs to the first floor several times a day is enough to keep anyone fit. The shop isn't very large, so things tend to pile up quickly. We don't have fancy lights or a big display window. We mostly just have our workspace and the shelves where we keep everything. It gets really hot in the summer because the air doesn't move much in these old market buildings. We have a couple of fans that stay on all day. The light from the hallway is a bit dim, so we have to use extra lamps inside to see the details of what we are working on. Most of our neighbors have been in the market for years, and we all know each other. Sometimes the tea man comes by and we take a short break, but mostly we are just busy with the clothes. It is a lot of manual work, moving boxes and sorting through materials. We don't have any corporate slogans or anything like that. It is just a regular shop where we do our daily work. We open up early and stay until the market starts to quiet down in the evening. That is just how it goes here.
