R. K. Traditional is located in Sahajanand Market-2, right near the Virandavan Shopping Centre in Ratan Pole. If you've ever been to this part of the city, you know how crowded it gets. Our shop is at GF 4. It’s a small space, but we pack it full of traditional clothes. We have stacks of fabric and ready-made pieces everywhere. Sometimes it’s hard to move around when we have more than two customers inside. We’ve been in the market for quite a while now. Most of our neighbors are also in the textile trade, so we all know each other. We don't have a fancy display window. People usually just walk in and start looking through the piles. We help them find the right colors or sizes. It’s a lot of folding and unfolding all day long. My brother and I run the place. We don't really do any advertising. People who shop at Ratan Pole usually just wander in. The lighting isn't the best, but you can see what the fabric looks like clearly enough. During festival seasons, it gets extremely hectic, and we barely have time to eat. We keep some tea ready for our regular visitors. It’s a traditional way of doing things, nothing like those big malls. We just sell what we have and try to be helpful. It’s a tight space but we make it work for us.
