You can find us at 246 New Cloth Market in Raipur. It’s a crowded area but we like being right in the middle of all the action. Our shop isn’t very large, but we pack a lot of stock into the shelves. We deal with all kinds of fabrics and materials that come through the market. Most days it’s just us moving bales around and talking to the people who stop by. We’ve seen the market change a lot over the years. Some days are slow and we just sit and drink chai, while other days are so hectic we barely have time to eat lunch. There are usually trucks unloading nearby which makes it a bit noisy. We don't have a big corporate team, just a few of us making sure orders are correct. The walls are lined with different samples, though they aren't always perfectly organized. We try to keep track of everything in our ledgers. It’s a honest living and we know our customers by name. If you are looking for specific cloth, we usually have a good idea of where it is in the pile. Raipur’s market is a tough place to work sometimes because of the heat and the dust, but we’re used to it by now. We just focus on selling what we have and being fair with everyone who walks in the door. We aren't experts in everything, but we know the cloth business well enough to keep going year after year.
