Down here on Arcot Road in Porur, we keep ourselves busy at Perfect Plastic Products. Our building at number 118 is where all the work happens. It’s usually pretty warm inside because of the machines running, but that is just part of making plastic goods. We have been in this spot for quite some time, and the neighborhood has changed a lot around us. There’s always traffic on the main road, but we stay focused on what’s inside. We make all sorts of plastic items, mostly things people use without thinking much about them. It takes a bit of patience to get the molds right and make sure the plastic sets properly. We aren't a huge corporation with slick offices; we are more about the day-to-day grind of production. Sometimes the machines act up or a shipment is late, and we just deal with it as it comes. It's a straightforward business. Most of the staff live nearby, so it’s a local crowd. We don't bother with fancy talk or big promises. If someone needs plastic parts made, we see if we can do it and then we get to it. The shop floor is where most of the action is, with the sound of the presses and the smell of raw materials. It’s hard work, and we go home tired, but it keeps us going. We’ve seen Porur grow, and we’re just glad to still be a part of it.
